Smash N Grab 2.0

Smash N Grab 2.0 lets your players smash windows and loot random NPC vehicles. Loot spawns inside the vehicle itself, in different seats, and you decide the odds of it appearing, which items can drop, and which prop models represent them. For real variety you can define custom loot per vehicle class, per vehicle model, and even per in-game location.

NPCs react too: they will call the police on the player, or fight back if the vehicle is theirs. Bigger crates can spawn in moving vehicles such as pickup trucks, so there is a reason to chase down more than parked sedans.

What you get

  • Works on all NPC vehicles: every vehicle on the road or in a parking lot is a potential target
  • Loot tables per class, model and location: fine-grained control over what spawns where
  • Different loot models linked to different loot tables: what a player sees on the seat tells them what they might get
  • Items and/or money rewards: pay out through your inventory, cash, or both
  • Openable and lootable items: crates and containers players crack open
  • Built-in minigames: breaking in is not a single keypress
  • Minimum police online: set a cop count required before loot spawns at all
  • Dispatch out of the box: a built-in dispatch system, plus support for cd-dispatch, core-dispatch and ps-dispatch via kq_link
  • Interaction your server already uses: 3D text, target, interact and other systems are supported

Optimization

The script spawns no networked entities, so it never eats into the networked entity limit. Loot is still synchronised by the script itself, meaning every player sees the same items in the same seats.

Compatibility

Smash N Grab 2.0 is fully standalone and runs on ESX, QBCore, QBox and VRP, as well as servers with no framework at all.

kq_link required. kq_link is a fully open-source linking layer that connects the script to whatever inventory, notification or dispatch system your server runs, so compatibility does not depend on your exact setup.

  1. Match the requirements

This listing names esx, qbcore, qbox support. Check the description and readme for required inventory, target, library, database or map resources.

Upload the folder to resources/, then add ensure <download-folder> to server.cfg using the exact downloaded folder name.

  4. Test before going live

Start it on a development server, check the console for missing dependencies, then test every action described on this page with the integrations used by your live server.
