Realistic Offroad Physics ends the days of taking any car anywhere on your FiveM server. Vehicles now sink into mud, sand, dirt and soft ground in general, and terrain that a stock sedan has no business crossing will actually stop it. Every material carries its own parameters, so a gravel track behaves nothing like a wet beach.

How each surface behaves

  • Depth: sets how far a vehicle can sink into a surface. The deeper it goes, the harder it is to drive, and in mud or wet sand it can get stuck outright.
  • Softness: controls how fast the sinking happens. Harder ground like gravel slows it down, while wet sand and mud swallow wheels quickly.
  • Traction: defines grip. Low traction cuts acceleration, braking and turning, so vehicles skid on loose gravel and rock.

What to expect

  • Surface depth, with vehicles visually sinking into the ground
  • Loss of traction on slippery surfaces
  • Distinct handling for each vehicle type and class
  • Optimized synchronization for every player on the server
  • Insanely configurable
  • Super low resource usage
  • Fully standalone, no dependencies

What decides off-road performance

Whether a vehicle makes it through is calculated from real vehicle traits:

  • Suspension height
  • Wheel size
  • Driven wheels (AWD or not)
  • Weight
  • Wheel count
  • Weather
  • Vehicle class
  • Off-road tires

Why it changes your server

This script overhauls the entire driving dynamic. Players will think twice before leaving the road, because a car that was never built for off-roading has a high chance of getting stuck under an inexperienced driver. That means you can finally ditch the "No GTA/offroad driving" server rule and let the terrain enforce itself. Only genuine off-road vehicles will clear the hardest obstacles.

The script does not modify the vehicle runtime handling meta, which keeps it compatible with basically all other resources.

Compatibility

  • Standalone
  • ESX
  • QBCore
  • QBox
  • VRP

It runs flawlessly on all servers, including ones with no framework at all.

Installation checklist

Start with the files and readme included with this product.

  1. Match the requirements

This listing names esx, qbcore, qbox support. Check the description and readme for required inventory, target, library, database or map resources.

  2. Keep the supplied names and order

Do not guess or rename the resource folder. Use the dependency order, config values, SQL and item definitions supplied in the download when they are present.

  3. Start it after its dependencies

Upload the folder to resources/, then add ensure <download-folder> to server.cfg using the exact downloaded folder name.

  4. Test before going live

Start it on a development server, check the console for missing dependencies, then test every action described on this page with the integrations used by your live server.
