FREE AI Police Response
This script rips out the base GTA V police dispatch and replaces it with an AI wanted system that is less punishing and more believable. It was built for small RP servers, the kind you run with friends where fielding a full roster of player cops just is not possible. Everything is configurable and the config and code are thoroughly commented, so you can tune the response to be gentler than vanilla or far more brutal if that is your thing.
Features
- Player police check: option to only enable AI police when player police are not online. You set how many player cops are required and whether they need to be on duty to count.
- Randomized loadouts: custom police loadouts per spawned unit, each with a spawnChance weighting to make them more or less likely.
- Units per jurisdiction: custom police units per zone, by default split into Los Santos, Paleto Bay, Sandy Shores and Countryside. Each unit has its own spawnChance weighting plus a minimum wanted level to appear. Out of the box the riot and FBI vehicles are weighted much higher, so once you hit those stars they show up far more often while regular units can still respond.
- Custom peds: every police unit has its own assigned ped models you can swap out.
- Helicopter response: police helicopters spawn at higher wanted levels, by default 4 stars instead of the vanilla 3, and this is configurable.
- Military air units: military helicopters and planes can spawn when the player is flying a helicopter or plane themselves.
- Unit counts per star: the number of units spawned per wanted level is customizable, with separate settings for ground units, helicopters and planes.
- Cleanup timers: dead units and far away units are removed after a customizable time so fresh ones can spawn, with separate timers for ground, helicopter and air units.
- Evasion times: customizable for each wanted level.
- Spawn distances: set separately for ground units, helicopters and air units.
Per-player response scaling
Each player gets their own police units. Two wanted players in the same car means double the police, four wanted players in one vehicle means four times the response. The author likes how difficulty scales this way and may revisit it someday.
Proper sync across clients
Police are spawned serverside, then their networkIDs are sent back to the client that requested them so they can be controlled and maintained. Units should not migrate to other clients, and distance culling is set high so they stay controllable from far away. In practice that means you will actually see AI police chasing other players.
Stolen police vehicles
If you manage to steal a police vehicle mid chase, it will not despawn when the script cleans up its unit (dead peds, far away peds, or lost stars). Right now a vehicle saved this way never despawns; logic to remove it once the player abandons it for a certain time or distance is planned.
Police job protection
Players with police jobs can be protected from becoming wanted, with an option to apply that protection only while on duty.
Requirements
This script requires QBCore for: notifications, counting players with police jobs online, checking nearby vehicles (the native function for this was giving the author trouble), and cancelling wanted levels when a player isDying or is inLastStand. In theory QBCore could be removed if you switch the vehicle check to the native and strip out the notifications and last stand logic.
